A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Azure, a saltire Argent, on a chief Or a Polynesian war club fesswise Gules charged with a pheon of the third.  Attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed “CREDE ET VINCE” in Blue.

The 200th Infantry Regiment's service is indicated by the silver cross of St. Andrew, which represents the organizations sacrifice; the war club is of the type used in New Guinea, and the yellow broad arrow (pheon) symbolizes the assault landing made there. The motto translates to "Believe and Conquer."        

The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 200th Infantry Regiment on 10 September 1951.  It was redesignated for the 200th Regiment on 20 March 1997.  The insignia was redesignated (in error) for the 200th Infantry Regiment on 1 June 2006.  It was redesignated back to the 200th Regiment with the symbolism revised on 17 August 2006.  The symbolism was amended 13 July 2023.
